This motet was written in 1970s to a television programme ”Gud har skapat en underlig ros” (God has created an amazing rose), where Helsinki-based chamber choir Jubilate, conducted by Astrid Riska were responsible for the music. ”Trösten mitt folk” was the opening number of that tv-programme.
