Festive Fanfare
Description
Concis 100 – year of composition 2008.
This festive fanfare was written for the 100th anniversary festivities of the Lahti Conservatory. The composition is based on a five-tone symbolic motto which is introduced right in the very beginning of the work. The motto will be modified as the piece goes on, taking the harmony towards changing tonal centres. The notes of the motto represent the four headmasters of the institute (Boris, Felix, Aarre and Eero – con cis).
The fanfare is written for brass quintet and timpani, but there is also a version for two pianos and an abbreviation for student use.
This score contains the original version and the abbreviation. Instrumental parts are available for sale separately.
