Across the LineTrad. New Zealand
Contents: 1. Across the Line (2004) * 2. Friendly Road (2005) * 3. A Long Time Ago (2004)
These three New Zealand folk songs, arranged for male voices, are all from anonymous sources. While New Zealand is too young to have true folk song tradition, many pieces were written in imitation of British models or borrowed heavily from the folk music of the British Isles. In a number of cases, British folk songs were adapted by simply substituting NZ place names and appropriate references.
The score includes “for rehearsal only” line for piano.
