Composed as a commission by the Internationalen Bachakademie Stuttgart in 2009. The purpose of this commission was to write a re-creation of, or reflection on, or homage to, the three psalm settings of Felix Mendelssohn published as Drei Psalmen Op.78; the occasion being the 200th anniversary of Mendelssohn’s birth.
