Magnificat Op.54
Segerstråle Martin7,50€
Description
Magnificat was written for Sibbo Vokalensemble to celebrate their 10th anniversary. It was premiered in the church of Sipoo, Finland conducted by Dag-Ulrik Almqvist on December 7, 2013.
The work moves rather freely between tonalities within the movements, but however it is clearly based on tonal foundations. The soprano soloist is given a central role in the lyrical parts and in the final ‘Amen’. Meanwhile, the choir creates different moods using dialogues between the female and male parts, as well as when acting as a backdrop for the soloist.
Duration of the work is appr. 14′
