Kehtolaulu Op. 7Mäntysaari Lauri
Composed to the folk poem “Nuku, nuku, nurmilintu” (“Sleep, sleep, grass bird”). The work won a price of honour at the composition competition of the Grex Musicus choir (Helsinki) in 2005. The revised version is dedicated to the TYY choir and Markus Yli-Jokipii and it was premiered at the Academy Hall in Turku, Finland on the 9.5.2008. The work was originally written as a lullaby to Riikka.
The work was originally written to a choir of 30-50 singers in mind. However, it can also be performed with a smaller, minimum 8 member ensemble.
